Trek for Teens Day

On May 27th, participants and volunteers gathered at Nathan Phillips Square for Trek for Teens Day 2017! The annual event began with its "Amazing Race"-styled race, a checkpoint-based series of challenges throughout Toronto. Checkpoints challenged participants' teamwork and creativity while also educating on the issue of youth homelessness. During the race, families and passersby were invited to try the large-sized board games on the square. For a pay-what-you-can donation, individuals tried their hands at fun activities available to the whole family. Bootcamp for Change took place during this time, as well. Participants took to the stage for a fun, active workout that raised funds for homeless youth in Toronto. The event was led by Personal Trainer Katie Heggtveit who specializes in army-style training.

Once the Race had concluded and the winners were announced, Fitness and Lifestyle Coach Dione Mason led participants through an active dance routine. Trek for Teens would like to thank Dione Mason and her team for their continued support at Trek for Teens Day.

The outing concluded with a free concert in the evening. Trek for Teens would like to thank the following performers:

  • CYGNUS

  • The Jolly Walker

  • The Five and Tens

  • 12 Shot Tiger

Trek for Teens would also like to thank all participants and volunteers for their efforts. Congratulations to the winning team! Over $1000 was raised for homeless youth in local communities. For photos from the event, head to our Facebook albums here
